St. Pat’s Weekend In Review; Part 4 (Finally)

So, it’s Sunday after St. Pat’s and I’m over at Money’s place. We had recently torn out all the plaster walls in his living room so he could put some good insulation in the walls and put up some drywall. Since I live in Illinois and he in Wisconsin, I was only able to help him hang a couple sheets of drywall. But, luckily, he had some other friends that liked to drink, so they came over, drank heavily, and hung drywall. Surprisingly, it turned out pretty well. And what was once the coldest room in his house was now the warmest.

Anyway, he had taped mudded all the cracks so we needed to sand down the mud and prime the walls. I had never sanded mudding before, but it wasn’t too hard. It did take a while though. It was here that my unhappy events of the day started. I ended up getting some of the dust in my eyes and needed to take my contacts out. I didn’t have my glasses with me, so I ended up doing it all without eye correction. Those don’t know, I have a -7.50 prescription in both eyes; I couldn’t see a damn thing. But, it still worked out. St. Pat’s Weekend In Review; Part 3

Alright, I guess it’s time to make my corrections on Part 2. This time, it’s because I left out a key part of the Sasquatch vs. Dan fiasco. I wasn’t there to see it, but I had heard the story; basically, they were making out for a little bit and then she took off (to go rub up on some other poor, unsuspecting fool I imagine). I guess Jay and Emily were there to see it all go down, and when done, Dan turned to them and said “I’ve never had so much tongue before.” Well, it was something to that effect, but you get the idea.

Now, then Jay told me this story, 2 things happened. First, I was pretty repulsed; Dan did make out with Sasquatch after all. Then I replied something to the effect that it made sense since her tongue was probably proportionate to her overall size; enormous! Now, this in itself was good for laughs since it was very true. What made it better was when he told Aaron about it he replied exactly the same way. You had to be there for the full effect I guess, but it was good for some laughs.

Before I get into the party, I want to mention something else since it was also a bit of a running issue with the day. After I had taken my nap, I woke up with a little bit of a headache, but nothing too terrible; the problem was that no matter how much I kept drinking, I couldn’t get my buzz back. Jay had the same issue. This isn’t to say that I wasn’t less inhibited or anything like that, but I couldn’t get my buzz back….

St. Pat’s Weekend In Review; Part 2

A few quick corrections from Part 1. Well, 1 correction; Emily had to leave the bar early for work and in fact did NOT nap with Jay. Poor Jay, yay….. uh….. Boston Store? Anyway……

So, back to where we left off. At this point, Emily had joined us again, Money was gone, the beer was iced and Aaron offered to drive us since he had a parking pass for the parking garage near by. This was key since there was no parking anywhere nearby. Earlier, SS and Dan had reported that McGillicuddy’s was so packed there was a line out the door and all the way to the corner. As we drove past the bar, we soon learned that the line had not died down; there were chumps lined up nearly around the corner waiting to get in that joint. What a bunch of jackasses!

As we approached the Guitar Bar (which is a couple bars over from McGillicuddy’s) I thought it was quite hilarious that we would be walking right through the line and into the bar. And, that’s exactly what we did; no covers, no waiting in the cold, and we didn’t even have to hunt for or pay for parking. Man, people are dumb! Continue reading →

St. Pat’s Weekend In Review; Part 1

St. Pat’s started on Thursday night for me. I met up with some friends at the Leinie Lodge, a bar in Milwaukee, for some “pizza and a pitcher” action. The pizza they happened to have at the time was pepperoncini and jalapeno; delicious! There were some shots, many beers, and an overall shill time.

Back to SS and Jay’s place, SS and I decided to take some photos of all the Guinness they got; 261 bottles and cans if you can blieve that, and a 30-pack of PBR just in case. I also happened to bring a 12-pack of Killian’s to mix things up a little. There was a pyramid in place, so we thinned it out for maximum height and took some photos.

St. Pat’s, Oh What a Night!

Well, the weekend is through, and somehow I didn’t die. Brilliant!

St. Pat’s was quite the success this year; starting on Thursday night and rolling right into Saturday night. It had it’s ups and it had it’s downs. 261 Guinni (that’s Guinness plural for those not in the know), a show from the Guvna at the Guitar Bar, a drunken Irishman, a pretty crankin’ party and a bunch of pictures to back up the stories.

But, it wasn’t 100% good times; people almost died, blood was shed, glass was broken in the kitchen on a couple occasions, and the worst part; my car almost failed to get me home. All things considered, it was equally as fantastic as it was shitty.
