April 3rd, 2008 — Drinking, Guns, Health, Life News, Motorcycle, Vacations
First, we’re back from Arizona. And I must say, it was an excellent trip, to put it lightly. Desert shooting, Teeth, my first beer in some four months and seeing the ol’ runnin’ crew; this trip had it all! In total, we have almost 900 pictures from the trip too. I’ll get those up as soon as I settle on some gallery software for sure. I’ll say it will happen soon, but let’s face it, it probably won’t.
I’m now pretty stable at 160 pounds, which was my target weight. Along with all of the fat, I lost a lot of muscle mass too. To help with this, purchased and now regularly use a set of Pushup Pros, an Ironman Double Ab Wheel and an SPRI medium strength resistance band. I’ve managed to get some muscles back in my arms and chest (more than I had before, in fact), but I really need to focus on my stomach now. I’m much thinner, but I’m still pretty flabby around the mid section. Hopefully I can get into some crunches/ab wheel/yoga routine, but we’ll see; the running should help once I start that back up too.
And that brings us to the title of the post. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve had to buy all new clothes. This is fine, and it’s something I pretty much needed to do anyway, my clothes were old and I needed freshen up the wardrobe. Unfortunately, this also means that my kickass leather jacket no longer fits. Continue reading →

Yes, this jacket is great! How great you ask? You have to see ti to believe it, that’s how great it is!!
Before I go in to the jacket though, let me recap why I chose it. First, I didn’t want a traditional leather riding jacket (as seen here), I wanted one without a collar because I like the sporty look; not too old school, but not crotch rocket either, just simple. Second, I didn’t want anything TOO plain (see here), and I liked the look of the stripes, it made the jacket pop. Plus they are reflective, and safety first right…… ok, I don’t even care if they are reflective, but it’s a nice touch. Finally, if this one would have had a grey sripe instead of an orange one, I would have gotten it, but as it is it’s too Harley for me. So, there it is.
Now, why Fox Creek Leather? Well, quite simply, I could not find one bad review of any of their jackets! I mean, there are some on their site from random people who were not happy with one thing or another, but that was it. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that the general population is retarded. Multiply that by the fact that people are 10 times more likely to write up a bad review than a good one and their track record looks pretty awesome.

Now that I have a nice, shiny new bike, it’s time to invest in some worthwhile riding gear. Back when I had my old bikes, I just wore whatever I had around. Hoodies, mechanics gloves, normal shoes….. anything I’d wear from day to day.
Before I even bought the new bike, I purchased a nice pair of black boots from Timberland. The main selling point was that they were 100% waterproof which I later confirmed. They are pretty comfortable now that I have broken them in, they are very durable and they look really good. Plain black boots, nice and simple. So, I’m all set there.
I have a leather jacket I got for Christmas a few years ago. The thing is pretty beat up now, which would be fine, but it has a good number of holes in it too. Huge holes, as a matter of fact, that I have stitched up so I can wear it before I get something new. It’s also not meant for riding, so it catches the wind like crazy and makes for a bad ride. It’s ready for the trash, and it’s time for a new jacket, preferably one made for riding.
In the last month, I’ve been going around to all the local shops here checking out what they have for jackets. They are generally all made for the kids on sport bikes, with the exception of a hand full of lame leather jackets. They all have some kind of logo on them, either from the company that makes the jacket or the manufacturer that licensed them to make it… or both. I just want a plan leather jacket with no collar and no writing; something clean and functional. Apparently I’m a minority….

Well, as mentioned in my original St. Pat’s post, I bought a motorcycle. Not just any motorcycle, but THE motorcycle….. or at least that’s my opinion of the bike. Since then, I’ve had the oil changed and there was some other service done too (which I’ll get in to in a second here). Yesterday I took some time to clean it up and today I took it in to work. People were freaking out all day asking who’s motorcycle was parked in the lot, and once they found out it was mine, I got all kinda of kudos on it. The thing is a beauty.
I’ll make this one quick. First, here’s some pictures!

March 21st, 2007 — Drinking, Life News, Motorcycle, Video Games
Well, I know I said I was going to update the site here once I found out more about my back and all, but you know me, I’m a sucker for not coming through. Besides, nothing happened out of everything. The pain slowly went away, and while it’s not completely gone, I can move around again. The doctor basically told me to keep taking pain killers and see how it goes. Needless to say, I’m not going back to her……
More recently, it’s March 21st, which means March 17th came and went. What does that mean? Simply that St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone again, and man was this year awesome! Originally, the plan was to meet up in Milwaukee on Friday, hang out with Aaron and the rest of the gang, play some video games, sample some of the party beers the night before and get some early sleep for the long day of drinking ahead (which of course involved going to the bars at 6:00am). I was also going to bring up the 2 Wireless Rumblepad 2′s I have to make a total of 4, thus making the MAME gameplay exponentially sweeter.
Instead, my poker game at another Funger’s place ran long (I was suckered into another game) and when we finally wrapped it up at midnight, the Milwaukee crew was heading to bed. Fine by me, cause while I missed out on some quality MAME, I did basically break even on the night, got some beers, got some awesome pizza and went to sleep around midnight. The suck part was that I had to drive up to Milwaukee in the morning, but that wasn’t a big deal since I was only coming from Racine and not Illinois. All in all I was fine with everything. I had a sharp new haircut, I made it up to Unger’s place in about an hour (which is usually how long it takes me to get home; stupid ass Illinois drivers), and best of all, I settled on a price for my new motorcycle! More on that a little later though. Continue reading →
